Trigger Settings

Overview

Trigger Settings are a core component of every trigger in Groundhogg CRM’s flow builder. These settings provide essential controls for managing how triggers interact with contacts and contribute to your overall workflow analytics. They appear in the configuration panel whenever you add or edit a trigger step within a flow.

These features are included with every trigger by default, allowing you to customize behavior without additional setup. Here’s a breakdown of the key options in the Trigger Settings interface:

  • Track Conversion When Triggered: A toggle switch (default: Off) that enables or disables whether firing this trigger counts as a “conversion” in your flow reports and analytics. When enabled, it helps track key milestones like form submissions or purchases directly tied to the trigger. A flag is displayed on the trigger step.
  • Can Be Triggered: A dropdown selector (default: Unlimited times) that defines the frequency limits for how often a contact can activate this trigger within the same flow instance. Options include:
    • Unlimited times: Allows repeated activations without restrictions.
    • At most once per contact: Limits the trigger to fire only one time per unique contact, ideal for one-off events like initial sign-ups.
    • Up to X times per contact: Sets a custom limit (e.g., 5 times), where “X” is a user-defined number, useful for recurring actions like newsletter opens.

When to Use

Use this step when you want to:

  • Do a cool thing

How It Works

What does this step actually do technically?

What options do you have? Can you include dynamic content like replacement codes? Are there any special settings for features to be aware of?

If there is a settings within options that need explanation, explain them like this.

  • Option – what it does
  • Option – what it’s for

Setup Instructions

  2. Choose Add Note from the list.
  3. Configure the note settings and any other special instructions.
  4. Use replacement codes to include dynamic data.
