Groundhogg 3.4.4 is here! This update included new features, like improved contact record UX, new custom activity report types, and more.

Here’s what you need to know:

📝 New form_submission replacement code

You can now use the form_submission replacement code in admin notifications and emails to merge all the field values from the most recent form submission.

It supports all field types, custom fields, and even file uploads. Perfect for quickly creating a reply or notification after a contact form submission or application.

The form_submission replacement code also supports different layouts that can be specified by using the layout argument.

For example, form_submission.layout="stacked" or form_submission.layout="table".

📈 New custom activity report types

When creating custom reports you can now use two new report types to get more from your data.

Sum value of activities

Shows the total value of all activities of the specified type in the report.

Average value of activities

Shows the average value of all activities of the specified type in the report.

This becomes useful if leveraging the custom activity API in your funnels or via the REST API.

🪪 Improved UX on the contact record

The contact record has received some improvements to help you find the information you need, faster.

Improvements to the Details Card

The details card shows the most important information about the contact at a glance. And now…

  • It has been rearranged for better usage of space.
  • You will see the contact’s upcoming birthday and their age.
  • You can see how long the contact has been subscribed.
  • The local time of the contact will periodically live update.

Improvements to the Activity Timeline

The readability of several timeline items has been improved including…

  • Form submissions
  • Webhook requests
  • And generic custom activity

Rather than showing the raw JSON, a collapsible table will be shown with relevant keys and values.
