📈 Your personalized dashboard

Groundhogg keeps getting bigger with more data collection and things to keep track of (how did we get here???***). It was time to create a dedicated space to show you the most essential information at a glance so you can keep the pulse on your business.

The new dashboard is personalized for each individual CRM user, showing information that relates specifically to them.

  • Your tasks
  • Your deals
  • Your recommendations
  • Your notifications
  • Your contacts
  • Your news
  • Your broadcasts

Each of the dashboard widgets can be collapsed, or disabled altogether.

Different addons and integrations will add widgets in the future. It’s also possible to add your own custom widgets, which are pending documentation.

If you have recommendations for new dashboard widgets let us know. We already have a planned Appointments widget for the calendar add-on.

The new dashboard replaces the old Welcome screen.
RIP 🪦 2019-2024 🫡.

***

When I started Groundhogg back in 2018, my reason for doing so was to create a simpler CRM for businesses that used WordPress. An antidote to the sprawling complex CRMs like Infusionsoft and HubSpot. Just contacts and email.

While basic Groundhogg is still fundamentally simpler than the SaaS CRMs, with all the add-ons it feels like we’re getting pretty close to complete feature parity.

What do you think?

🧺 Broadcast batching

Another highly requested feature from our backlog! Broadcast batch scheduling allows you to send your broadcast in “batches.”

You might want to use batching to prevent a whole bunch of traffic to your site all at once, or for deliverability reasons if you’re warming up a list.

You’ll be able to tweak the amount of emails in each batch, and how far apart each batch will be sent.

You’ll be able to see an estimate of the total send time based on your batch settings.

If you leave batching disabled, Groundhogg will attempt to send all your emails ASAP, as usual.

📝 Convert emails to posts in 1 click!

It’s quite normal to put so much effort into an email that you also want to share it as a blog post.

Groundhogg already has some embed options, but those don’t allow for easy content manipulation.

So what if you want to create a post with the same content as an email, but then edit the post without editing the email?

Now you can convert any email to a post in a single click! Click the 3 dots in the email editor and click Convert to post.

Your email will be automatically converted to Gutenberg-compatible blocks!

While the conversion sometimes isn’t perfect, it does retain all your content and the general structure including columns and spacing. Most display styling (fonts and background colors) is not preserved.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Contact relationships

Dealing with families? You can now track parent/child relationships within the contact record.

Currently, relationships have to be added and managed manually.

Replacement code support for Gutenberg

If you’re personalizing your front-end site and use Gutenberg (post editor and FSE) you can leverage Groundhogg replacement codes directly within the block without the use of shortcodes.

Simply use the same replacement code syntax you’d normally use in an email in supported blocks in your posts and pages.

Groundhogg 3.7

We currently support most of the core blocks you’d expected to use replacement codes in, like…

  • Paragraphs
  • Headings
  • Images
  • Groups
  • Columns
  • Lists
  • Etc.

To enable replacement codes in the block, open the Groundhogg panel and toggle “Enable replacements.”

🔒 Content restriction for BLOCKS

If you’re using the content restriction addon, in the same panel where you’ll see replacements toggle, you will also have the option to restrict the block based on contact filters.

This unlocks opportunities for offers and paid content promotion.

The content restriction for Gutenberg blocks exactly the same way as it does in emails.
