Groundhogg 2.5 release date is August 11th, 2021
It’s no secret that the Groundhogg team has been working nonstop around the clock locked in a basement since 2020 to deliver Groundhogg 3.0. We’ve made big promises, and we intend to keep them.
Over the last 8 months, we’ve made massive progress! We’ve developed frameworks, innovative UI and UX, and have created an all-new super fast and super simple experience for Groundhogg users.
There are amazing things coming, and we’re releasing some of them now!
A taste of 3.0
This newest version will give you a small taste of what to expect from the next flagship update coming later this year. In the grand scheme of things, the new updates highlighted in this article are small pieces of a much, much bigger puzzle.
Okay, no more teasing. Let’s jump into it.
Contact search gets an overhaul!
We’ve completely redesigned the way contact search works from the ground up. Instead of a big white box, you have a highly interactive GUI that allows you to pick and choose which filters you want to display and use to sort your contacts.
We’ve also added the ability to use AND/OR logic in your search for incredible flexibility and granularity in the search results.
Third-party developers and integrations will also be able to add custom filters to query data in their own plugins. For example, our WooCommerce integration will allow you to filter by the Total Customer Value.
Contact quick editing is actually usable!
The quick edit feature in the contact list used to be inline with the table and be as wide as all the columns in the table. This meant that if the table was exceptionally wide, using the quick edit feature wasn’t exactly a quick experience.
Now, when you quick edit a contact their details will popup in a concise modal on the screen. And changes you make will be automatically updated to the contact record.
“Whoops” protection!
Another clever bit of UX was to add a popup confirmation message to several easy-to-miss “whoops” misclicks. For example, when deleting a contact you’ll be asked to confirm the deletion to make sure you didn’t click delete by accident.
Search or Add, anywhere, anytime.
Another quick win for 2.5 is the new Groundhogg admin bar widget which allows you to search for contacts or add a new one from any screen in the WordPress dashboard.
In this widget you can:
- Search for contacts
- Add new contacts
- Schedule a broadcast
But that’s just the start! We’ll be adding more and more features to the widget over time both in core and from our various extensions. Soon you’ll be able to Add and search pipeline deals, schedule and find appointments, complete and create tasks, and more from a conveniently located widget!
