Are you looking to improve client relations by creating better results, faster? If so, figuring out the best funnels to implement is absolutely fundamental to your agency.

Quick recap, what is a funnel? A funnel is a system that takes traffic in and helps convert it into both customers and revenue. When you use a funnel with Groundhogg, it will completely automate this experience.

This means you’ll be able to get some of these funnels up and running in under 30 minutes. This will help save time, and money (thanks to our flat rate cost).

As an agency, there are three main reasons why businesses will be seeking your help:

  • to get more customers/money
  • to save time
  • to save money

There are so many ways that you can use funnels to your advantage to help clients do all three!

The 5 essential funnels every agency needs to know

These five funnels are perfect for any agency as they require no new assets or designs. You can install these funnels with Groundhogg and use them almost immediately, after a little bit of copywriting.

Every single one of these funnels is actually a template that you can find in Groundhogg!

1) Contact Us Follow-up

What it does: Follows up with leads that submit your contact form and gives them the next steps to become a customer.

Why you need it: ~25% of leads that come through the contact us page will take additional actions to become a customer, make sure you have a funnel!

Time investment: 15-30 minutes

This funnel only takes about 15 to 30 minutes to set up and is the perfect way to convert those who are interested in your product/service into actual customers.

When a potential lead lands on the contact page, they will find a form that asks for their general information (name, e-mail, etc). It will also have one additional prompt “What kind of question do you have?”

The options will be:

  • General
  • Support
  • Billing
  • Pre-Sales.

While the first three can be redirected to a help desk, if a potential lead selects pre-sales we know to send them more information.

While the potential lead is awaiting an answer to their question, they will be sent an automatic email with some next steps they can take to join the community. Some of these could include:

  • a link to starter courses
  • other ways to contact you
  • a link to social media pages
  • a link to Facebook Groups where they can see other people talking about/enjoying the product

After a few days, additional emails can be sent to continue to encourage the potential lead to become a customer. If the contact decides to purchase, they will automatically be taken off and won’t receive any more prompts.

About 25% of leads that come through the contact us page will take additional actions to become a customer, which is why this funnel is so important.

What it does: Adds a subscribe form to your footer. This can include an offer or other incentives to encourage the lead to convert to a customer. Leads will receive follow-up.

Why you need it: About 1% of monthly site traffic will subscribe and the funnel will convert at around 10%.

Time investment: 15- 30 minutes

This funnel only takes about 15 to 30 minutes to implement and will create consistent results on your client’s site.

All you have to do is add the subscribe form from the template to the footer of the website. The form asks for the user’s name and email address. To encourage people to sign up, you can also add an incentive.

One example would be to offer 15% off their first purchase if they sign up. Once filled out, an automated email will be sent with a code to use. In that email, you can also restate company values, why they should buy and a link where they can purchase.

If the user does not purchase, a follow-up email can also be sent reminding them about the discount and encouraging them to buy.

About 1% of monthly site traffic will subscribe and the funnel will convert at around 10%.

3) Review Please?

What it does: An email is sent to collect positive reviews from existing customers.

Why you need it: About 5-10% of customers who open this email will go on to give you a positive review.

Time investment: 15-30 minutes

Reviews can make or break a business, that’s why collecting them is so important. These funnels are super simple for an agency to set up and are a great way to encourage a business’s existing customers to give some stars.

After a customer has a positive interaction (like a purchase), an automated email will be sent asking them for a review.

There are lots of opportunities to send reviews…

  • After a customer receives a product
  • When a student completes a course
  • When a support ticket is resolved
  • After a service is completed

The subject line and body of the email should be short and sweet. A subject line that we find works really well is just “Review Please?”

Once the customer opens the email, they can choose if they want to rate 1-5 stars. If they choose 4 or 5 stars, the email will direct them to the site where they can leave their review. (This can be Google, TripAdvisor, WordPress Repository etc.)

However, if the customer had a poor experience and clicks on 1-3 stars, the email will redirect them to an “Unsatisfied Page” on your website. Here, customers can book a call with a team member so they can try and solve the issue that resulted in the negative review.

About 5-10% of customers who open this review email will go on to give you a positive review.

4) Lead Onboarding

What it does: Sends a series of indoctrination emails to leads. This will be your opportunity to check in, state values and help convince these people that the product is meant for them.

Why you need it: Add a +10% increase to your baseline conversion rate.

Time investment: 1-2 hours

While this funnel takes about 1-2 hours to implement, it will be well worth your time. In fact, you can add a +10% increase to your baseline conversion rate.

This funnel will send out multiple emails over the course of weeks to help encourage potential customers to purchase the product. Anyone who subscribed or joined an email list and shows interest in the product can be added to this funnel.

This will be your opportunity to check in, state the company’s values and help convince these people that the product is meant for them.

Some topics that should be included in these emails include:

  • Product education
  • Case studies
  • Customer reviews
  • Blog Posts
  • Community Resources
  • Socials
  • Offers (to give them that last push to convert)

The reason this funnel takes a bit longer is that it does require some copywriting. If you don’t have case studies, you’ll have to write them. If you don’t have community pages yet, you’ll have to make them. You will also just have to gather links for all of your resources. However, it will be well worth your time.

5) Customer Onboarding

What it does: Multiple emails will be sent out over the span of weeks to help educate your customers about the product that they just purchased.

Why you need it: It will +50% customer retention rate after 1 year.

Time investment: 1-2 hours

Customer onboarding is fairly similar to lead onboarding, but now you are trying to retain a customer that has just purchased.

This funnel takes about 1-2 hours to implement but has a +50% customer retention rate after 1 year.

Retention is important no matter what you’re selling. If it’s a product, you want people to keep coming back to repurchase. If it’s a service, you want customers to know how to use it, so they will keep renewing.

In this funnel, multiple emails will be sent out over the span of a few weeks to help educate customers about the product that they just purchased. Some topics to include:

  • Company values
  • Product education
  • Guides and tutorials
  • Community resources
  • Support & help resources
  • Boundaries and expectations (how long it takes to respond to a support ticket, etc.)

These emails help customers learn more about the product, how to use it and will answer simple questions they may have. This will help keep them engaged, as opposed to either forgetting about your product or getting frustrated because they don’t have the right answers on how to use it.
