🧱 Edit default block settings

When adding new blocks to your email you might spend a lot of time tweaking the design of each block to fit your brand, especially if you're not working with a template.

Now you can further customize Groundhogg and save time by editing the default appearance of blocks so that you can spend more time writing and less time tweaking.

While in the email editor, click on the 🎚️ Editor Settings » Block Defaults to show the list of blocks.

Click on any block to start editing its default appearance! You can edit the default appearance and settings of all blocks in the email editor!

Note that when editing the default appearance of any block, the appearance of that block in any previously created emails will not be affected until editing and updating those emails.

🎨 Email custom CSS

Each block already has a custom CSS section, but now you can add custom CSS for your whole email!

In the email editor click on the Advanced tab and you will see the new Custom CSS panel to add custom CSS for your email template.

🤏 Optimized email CSS & HTML size

We've also added several CSS and HTML optimizations to reduce the overall size of emails and included CSS (for emails made with the Groundhogg block editor, and not HTML template emails).

Did you know that Google limits the size of <style> blocks to 8,192 characters (8KB)? We've optimized our CSS generation to keep style blocks small.

This will improve deliverability and should also solve some issues with larger emails and custom CSS not taking effect in Gmail inboxes.
